14 August 2024 at 07:16 Poland: The man wanted for the Nord Stream sabotage has fled to Ukraine A Ukrainian man in his 40s was wanted by a German court in June. He is suspected of having blown up the gas pipeline in Nord Stream in the autumn of 2022. This is what the Swedish newspaper Expressen writes. The man’s car was captured by a surveillance camera not far from the harbor where the sailboat “Andromeda” was located just before the sabotage action. German police have previously linked this sailboat to the sabotage. In addition to the 44-year-old, two other Ukrainian citizens have status as suspects. It was on 26 September 2022 that tremors were recorded at the gas pipelines Nord Stream 2 and Nord Stream 1 southeast of Bornholm in Denmark. The gas pipelines transport Russian gas to Germany. Danish and Swedish authorities are investigating the case, and believe the leak is the result of a deliberate act and suspect sabotage.
