The man charged with capital violence has been jailed for four weeks – news Trøndelag

The court points out that there is a imminent danger that the accused will spoil evidence in the case by influencing witnesses. This is happening at the same time as a large search operation is taking place for the person who is said to have been subjected to the deadly violence in Rennebu. The ruling from the district court also states that there is a probability that the missing person is dead as there are no signs of life from him in any way since the night of 24 September. This applies both to bank withdrawals and to his phone. – I cannot go into the concrete evidence. But we believe it is predominantly likely that the missing person is no longer alive. At least that is a hypothesis we are working on, says police attorney Bente Bøklepp. The accused man acknowledges that there has been a disagreement between them, but denies criminal guilt. The police have sealed a door to a building where both the suspect and the missing person have stayed. She says they are now questioning many witnesses and that is something they are trying to find out, among other things. But it appears from the ruling that a witness must have been told that the accused beat the missing person. – The best thing for us is to come in with an investigation as early as possible. But now we only found out that he was missing on 1 October and then we have to start the investigation that is necessary, says Bøklepp. The search teams are now looking for the missing man, who the police fear is dead. They are searching in a circle with a radius of 300 meters and have so far gone over half the area of the circle. So it happens without the man the police believe to have injured having been found. On Wednesday afternoon, crews from both the police, the Civil Defence, the Red Cross and Norwegian People’s Aid are looking for the 46-year-old man the police believe is prone to violence. The search takes place south of Ulsberg in Rennebu municipality. Operations leader Ketil Stene tells news that their first goal is to search a circle with a radius of 300 metres. They expect to be done with this during Thursday. Until now, they have covered approximately half the area of the circle. – Beyond 300 metres, there will be a rough search along paths and roads. The area is not particularly good hiking terrain, so there is little help from others, says Stene. Reported missing by family The 46-year-old was reported missing by family last Saturday. After questioning and technical investigations, the police charged an acquaintance of the missing person with bodily harm. – The reason for this is that we have information that there has been a discrepancy, a physical discrepancy – between the missing person and the man who is now wanted, right before he disappeared, Bøklepp said then. The charge has now been extended to grievous bodily harm resulting in death.
