17 March 2023 at 18:46 The main road to Kvinnherad will be closed until Saturday afternoon Fylkesveg 500 in Kvinnherad is closed between Årsnes and Sunndal, after there was a large rock, snow and slush avalanche south of Sunndal a little before 6pm on Friday. This is the only ferry-free road into the municipality. The landslide is 150 meters wide and 2-3 meters high. The police are on the scene. An excavator and a van were hit by the collapse, but there were no people in them. Construction work is taking place on the site in connection with a new power tunnel. It is uncertain how quickly the landslide can be cleared away. A geologist will come to the city on Saturday morning. For now, the plan is for a new assessment to be made on Saturday at 3 p.m.
