This is reported by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in a new report presented on Sunday. The report was presented at the opening of the climate summit in Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday. The world is now 1.15 degrees warmer than it was in the period 1850-1900, i.e. before the large CO2 emissions started. – The warmer it gets, the worse the effects. And all too often those who are least responsible for climate change are the ones who suffer the most, said WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas. The report also shows that sea level rise is now twice as fast as in 1993. Since January 2020, the seas have risen by 10 millimeters on average.
