The first night test of the year in the Master’s Master program 3 – news Vestfold and Telemark – Local news, TV and radio

The theme “Team spirit” was a real challenge for several of the participants. Some of them are mostly used to individual sports. But unity was to be decisive. Before the day was over, one of them had to go home. This time it was wrestler Stig-André Berge who drew the shortest straw. He had to go out in the first night test of the season. It would bring out nerves he hadn’t felt in quite some time. – It was really terrible. I had a stomach ache, I had no appetite. It was the kind of nervousness I had when I was going out on the wrestling mat. Especially in the Olympics and championships. There were some tough trials he and the teams had to go through before it ended in a duel. Tough hills in bike races The first test was a tough bike race. The blue team with cross-country runner Ola Vigen Hattestad, orienteering runner Hanne Staff and kickboxer Andreas Lødrup pushed their way to victory. It was a narrow second place for the white team, consisting of wrestler Stig-André Berge, rower Olaf Tufte and dancer Helene Spilling. The teams were shuffled before the “Plank walking” exercise. Keeping the balance and at the same time agreeing within the team proved not to be easy for everyone. The blue team was a horse’s head ahead, before Holte lost his balance. Also Stig-André on the white team lost his balance, and the team had to start again. The red team kept their balance and were soon at the finish line. And the red team won supremely! They celebrated with a group hug. Stig-André Berge was at the front of the white team, and the one who laid the tactics for the team. He takes self-criticism for that. – We really had good control and were out quickly. Then we managed to knock over the blocks repeatedly. We probably had some bad tactics there. I blame one hundred percent on myself and how I solved it, says the wrestler. The “obstacle course” was one of the last trials for the teams. Here, Linn Jørum Sulland needed points to avoid a night test. The participants had to climb over a 2.5 meter high wall. The journey continued with one participant having to be carried on a stretcher. Here the teams tested different tactics, with lying or sitting. Red team chose the right to lie on the stretcher, now they could start digging White team also started digging. The red team had two participants under the obstacle. Only Tufte remained. It became more even when the teams had to solve the labyrinth. The red team finished first and got over the last obstacle, which was 1.50 high. The red team was the first to finish and celebrated with a hug! Linn Jørum Sulland’s team came finish last. Thus she had to test at night. It did not go the way of the handball player. After footballer Frode Johnsen was named theme winner in “Team spirit”, Sulland revealed the choice of opponent in the night test. Favorite stamp in the night test The choice fell on the one who finished second last in the competition, namely Stig-André Berge. Berge had to choose exercise. He quickly came to the conclusion that it would be stupid of him who breaks to choose a ball practice against a handball player. Therefore, the choice fell on the reaction exercise, something he regrets a little afterwards. And it was an exciting match to say the least. Although it was difficult to see who grabbed hold first, it was Sulland who took the win. – It was even, but there is no doubt that the best won, says Berge. – Burning in the heart Afterwards, Stig-André Berge is sorry that he quit so early. – That was not why I joined the Master of Masters, to come out second. I had very much higher ambitions than that. Berge thinks it’s sad that he didn’t get more chances to tease his friend and competitor Olaf Tufte. – It is incredibly difficult when we have built up a small internal thing like that for several months in advance. Also, it’s over so quickly. I feel I was not shown what lives in me. – How does it feel now to see it on TV? – I must honestly admit that it hurts my heart. It makes me sad when I see it. Because I really wanted to be involved further. Nevertheless, he is looking forward to watching the rest of the competition on TV and thinks all the other participants are worthy winners.
