Fire Chief Andrew Wright recommends disconnecting electrical equipment and moving belongings up from the basement. Fire brigade advice after water leak All electricity in the flooded premises and rooms is switched off. If possible, move objects and fixtures onto safe ground. Get help with drainage or bilge pumps. Pay close attention to hygiene after contact with wastewater that has penetrated. Call the insurance company. Get help with damage limitation and drying out the rooms (the insurance companies assist with such contact).
