The European Central Bank (ESB) is lowering interest rates for the fourth time this year, they write in a press release. The key interest rate in the eurozone will be lowered by 0.25 percentage points, and now stands at three percent. It is the fourth interest rate cut in 2024. The ECB sees an average inflation of 2.4 per cent this year. They expect it to drop to 2.1 per cent in 2025 and 1.9 per cent in 2026. The ECB looks at price growth, the labor market and economic development when deciding the interest rate.
