– That was amazing. It is impossible to put into words. It was incredibly good to see him again. I never thought I would see him again. It’s completely unreal. That’s what Marie Nerland Karlsen says to news on Thursday evening, after landing in Italy a few hours before. It is here that her dog Kompis (7) was found, after having disappeared without a trace from Hustadvika in Møre og Romsdal. Was found wandering alone The dog was found wandering along the streets in the area around Venice, over 2,500 kilometers from home. Dog owner Karlsen was contacted on Tuesday by a vet in Italy who wondered if she owned a dog. Taken care of by an Italian couple Karlsen says that Kompis was found by an Italian couple. They were the ones who took the dog to the vet, who had the chip scanned. On Thursday, Karlsen got to meet the couple, who handed over Kompis to its rightful owner. – He is more skeptical How Kompis ended up in Italy, no one knows. – I notice that he is much more skeptical and stressed. I think the best thing now is for him to be left alone. Now we’re just going to enjoy ourselves, says Karlsen to news. Soon Kompis will return to Norway and Møre and Romsdal. But first he has to be quarantined. – We have to be in Italy for two days to get the paperwork and vaccines in order. And then we have to take him back to Norway. Here he must be in quarantine for 21 days, before we can pick him up. It will be a long process, but it is worth it, says Karlsen. It was Romsdal’s Budstikke that mentioned the disappearance first.
