The Directorate of Education recommends filters on digital school tools – Latest news – news

The Directorate of Education is now coming up with new recommendations to prevent harmful content on digital devices in schools. – It is unsustainable that students can access content such as violence and pornography. We also know that many students are disturbed by other content such as games and social media in teaching, says Minister of Education Kari Nessa Nordtun in a press release. The new recommendations imply, among other things, that schools should have filters both on networks and on digital devices. In primary schools, they recommend filters that only open content that has been approved in advance. At the secondary school, they recommend filters that block unwanted content. For pupils at the junior level who take the devices home with them, the directorate recommends that a filter be installed on them to regulate what the pupils have access to. Nordtun expects the school owners to follow the new recommendations.
