The defenders in the Spydeberg case ask the police to say what kind of drug the twin girls probably died from – news Oslo og Viken – Local news, TV and radio

– I think they should go out with what kind of narcotic they suspect this case applies to. It is important that young people are informed about the danger and about the possible consequences, says Haakon Åsli Skogstad. He is the defense attorney for an 18-year-old man who is in custody. The 18-year-old is charged with selling drugs and leaving someone in a helpless state. The twin sisters Mina Alexandra and Mille Andrea Hjalmarsen (16) were found lifeless at an address in Spydeberg on the night of Sunday. The police suspect that they died after taking drugs. A third teenage girl was sent to hospital after a suspected overdose. She has status as a witness in the case. The police have an idea about what kind of substance the girls must have ingested, but they will not make this public. Skogstad believes that they should do that. – It is of great public interest that other young people are informed about the dangers of these substances. Aftenposten first wrote about Ditlei-Simonsen’s call. Will not comment The police have received a preliminary autopsy report following the deaths. But they will not say which substances have turned up in the investigation. – Regarding the type of drug, we cannot comment on this until the final autopsy report is available. We have an opinion based on information in the case, but not the full and complete picture, police attorney Benedicte Granrud told news on Wednesday. – A final autopsy report will provide the concrete answer. For this reason, the police cannot say anything about this at this time. The defense attorney for the other accused in the case also believes that the police should say what they know about the drugs. Lawyer Knut Ditlev-Simonsen believes it is important to clarify whether there is any new, dangerous or particularly potent drug in circulation. Photo: Stein Ove Korneliussen/news – I think the police should release the information about which substance they think applies to avoid speculation, says Knut Ditlev-Simonsen. Ditlev-Simonsen defends a man in his 20s who has been charged with negligent homicide. The man denies criminal guilt. – There are many types of substance out there and it can be important to get it clarified. Especially if there should be something new, toxic or particularly potent that should be warned against. Does not plead guilty The police are now working to obtain and review information. – The central thing in the investigation now is to map the course of events in the run-up to the deaths. We have interviewed a double-digit number of witnesses, and there are still more interviews to be done, says police attorney Granlund. Defense attorney Haakon Åsli Skogstad, for reasons of the police investigation, cannot reproduce what the accused 18-year-old has explained about his role in the case. The 18-year-old pleads not guilty. – It is important for me to emphasize that at the present time my young client is not suspected in any way of having caused these tragic deaths, says Skogstad. – And so it is important for me to emphasize that this is a great tragedy. It is not always the case that some individuals must be punished for it.
