New homes sold in the last twelve months are 18,153 housing units, which is more than 10,000 fewer than the estimated annual housing need. – We are worried that the low activity in the new housing market will be able to persist in the event of further interest rate increases. A positive sign is that we are seeing increased interest in the market in the form of more inquiries and more people attending screenings, says Hiim.
