The police wanted to remand the Russian for four weeks, but the Hordaland district court thought the man had to be set free. The reason was, among other things, that the man in his 30s had not been aware of the carelessness he had shown. Russians are not allowed to use drones in Norway according to the sanctions rules. They therefore thought it was not right to keep him in custody for up to a month until the case is fully investigated. The police are appealing the decision, writes Bergensavisen. The man will therefore remain in custody until the appeal has been processed.
