The Conservatives want to stop large fees for their own politicians – news Oslo og Viken – Local news, TV and radio

– Neither Tore nor I have imagined that there could be such remuneration for this work, writes leader of the Conservative Party’s group, Anette Solli in an email to news. As we told you last week, the hiring of new managers in Viken ended with sky-high fees for several of the politicians who sat on the hiring committees. Most of all it went to Tore Opdal Hansen, who is deputy leader of the Conservative Party’s group in Viken. After leading 16 partly short meetings in the employment committee for Buskerud, he was able to submit a claim to receive just under NOK 117,000 in compensation. – It’s an awful lot. Very, very much, Hansen admitted when news confronted him with the final sum. Then began Høyre’s campaign to stop, or reduce, the payment for the job in the employment committee. In an email to the county mayor, the Conservative Party complained about insufficient case management, wrong interpretation of the rules, and asked that the case be taken up for new consideration. At the same time, Tore Opdal Hansen sent an e-mail to the administration and asked that the money “not be paid out until all matters surrounding remuneration have been clarified”. Can’t get support But the county mayor from the Labor Party does not agree that something has gone wrong. County mayor Roger Ryberg is also not positive about cutting the fees after “everyone” agreed on how this should take place. First once in the county council and twice in the business committee. Everyone agreed on this way of doing it, he claims. “It is unfortunate to go back on decisions that have been made. And that the county mayor will not without further ado stop assigned allowances,” the case states. It also says that the expenses for politicians’ fees were much higher than they thought. The reason was that there were many more meetings than they thought would be necessary. There were calculated 4-5 meetings in each of the three committees that were to hire new county directors. In Buskerud, 16 meetings were held. – Unreasonably high They planned to spend NOK 150,000. This included expenses for travel expenses, meeting rooms, loss of earnings, catering and meeting rooms. The real figure could be over NOK 400,000 just for politicians, shows an estimate from the Conservative Party. – If it is true, it appears unreasonably high and for the Right’s part not something we can vouch for, writes Anette Solli. One thing the Conservative Party and the Labor Party completely agree on: the fees are too high. Something the politicians must now discuss. – We must have more sober fee rates. And more clear thoughts about how we are going to do this in the future, because more committees will be set up in the future to tailor operations in the new counties, says Roger Ryberg to news.
