The identity of a woman who was found dead in a fire in Valldal on 11 December has now been confirmed. This is reported by the police in Møre and Romsdal. – The deceased has been identified as a woman in her 40s who was reported missing in connection with the fire. The woman lived in Ålesund and was previously cohabiting with the man in his 60s who is charged in the case. The next of kin have been informed, the police say. Charged with murder The police first reported the fire at 8.24pm on Sunday 10 December. Then the house caught fire, and it burned down during the evening. The police then stated that a man was in the house and that he had got out on his own. Later it was reported that the emergency services had found a woman in the fire ruins. Out of consideration for the investigation, the police will not go further into the evidence at this time, says the prosecutor in charge of the case, Maria Vike Nørve. The accused is in custody and has not yet explained himself in the case. – The start of the hearing, which was planned for Monday 18 December, has been postponed indefinitely due to his condition, the police said. The woman has been sent for an autopsy. The police have received an interim autopsy report, but have so far not released any information about its contents.
