The cat Narcissa in Tromsø has been found after eight years – news Troms and Finnmark

– We were shocked. I got a real chin-pull, says chairman of the board Therese Simonsen Rye in Animal Protection in Tromsø. She says that they have previously experienced that cats have recovered after up to two years. They have never experienced that they have been gone for eight years. For now. – This is very special, says Simonsen Rye. Regarded Narcissa as lost It was in Tromsø that first mentioned the case. The cat Narcissa came to Animal Protection in 2015. Simonsen Rye estimates that the cat was then around one year old. After a few weeks, she got her first foster family at Skittenelv in Tromsø municipality, but after a trip to the vet, Narcissa darted out into the forest and disappeared. Therese Simonsen Rye hopes to hear from anyone who may have had something to do with Narcissa during the eight years she was gone. Photo: Private photo For several weeks they searched for her and advertised on social media. After two years they had concluded that Narcissa was most likely dead. – But she was ID marked. We knew that if anyone found her, she was marked. But we still didn’t think she would come back. We counted her as lost, and that we were never going to find her, says Simonsen Rye. She tells about how Narcissa came to be. In Tønsvika, just over a mile from Skittenelv. – Someone had lost their cat there, and borrowed a cat trap. A cage. Then a cat walked into the cage, which was not their cat but Narcissa. In good shape Precisely because the cat is ID-marked, Animal Protection is one hundred percent sure that it is Narcissa. Simonsen Rye says that after all these years, Narcissa is mostly tame and trusting of people. In addition, she is in good shape. – I had expected that she would have to have dental work and that her fur was ugly, but she is in surprisingly good condition for having been away for so long. – Someone’s pussy But where has she really been? It is currently impossible to say, but Simonsen Rye has a theory. – I’m pretty sure that someone has taken care of her. I think Narcissa has been someone’s cat all these years, but we don’t know who. Legally speaking, Narcissa is Animal Protection’s cat. – But there is probably someone in Tønsvika who thinks she is their kitty. We would like them to contact us, and we will probably find a solution. Now she’s going to be a national celebrity, so I hope they get the word out that she’s been found, says Simonsen Rye.
