– The cabin owners should really worry – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

Norwegian Industry leader Stein Lier-Hansen is today joining the Class Struggle and demanding an action rule from the government to get more water in the reservoirs. Water reservoirs in Southern and Eastern Norway are at their lowest level in 20 years and electricity prices in Southern Norway have been record high. Nevertheless, exports to foreign countries tripled from week 28 to 29, writes Klassekampen. The largest perennial magazines in Norway are located in South-West Norway. So that we are really in “deep shit”, he says. He therefore wants an action rule on the degree of filling in the largest reservoirs in order to obtain more stable electricity prices. Lier-Hansen is clear that this is no argument against exchanging electricity with Europe. Stein Lier-Hansen is managing director of Norsk Industri, the largest NHO organisation. We must ensure that the adjustable power that we have, which is a unique resource, must be managed in a way that creates predictability throughout the year, says Lier-Hansen. Energy analyst Tor Reier Lilleholt in Volue Insight believes that the government has taken the measures that enable them to save on the filling rate. – As I understand it, this is precisely what the Storting and the government are planning. They have now obtained an overview of 60 power plants, and that is important. Then the facilities can be managed in detail, and there can be rationing, says Lilleholt to news. Lilleholt believes we can now assess how much freedom of action we have in the autumn and then set limits for how low it is allowed to go in the spring. – Autumn is the wettest time, and whether it is dry or wet has a lot to say. Then you have to consider implementing a rule of action of 5 or 10 per cent filling level, says Lilleholt. Lilleholt states that he has family that sells firewood, but he has no private ownership interests in firewood sales. The government has not responded to news on Saturday. State Secretary Elisabeth Sæther (Ap) tells VG that, as of now, there are no restrictions on exports and minimum levels of filling in the magazines. – Must consider action rule The Norwegian Directorate of Water Resources and Energy (NVE) issued a decision on Friday that selected hydropower producers in southern Norway must report weekly on production and reservoir filling. Power analyst Tor Reier Lilleholt in Volue Insight. Photo: news Energy analyst Lilleholt believes that it has little to do if exports are high for a week, despite the low water level in the reservoirs. – It is completely wrong to look at one week at a time. The system is such that a week with little wind in Europe requires more exports. And then it will be the opposite next week, says Lilleholt. Expensive for cabin owners He is still worried about people’s finances before an expensive electricity winter. – The easiest thing for consumers now is to take last winter’s consumption and multiply it by two kroner. Including the electricity subsidy, it will be around there, and you will then get a fairly accurate price on the bill, says Lilleholt. This applies to the house owners, but for cottage owners, the winter will be far more expensive. ECO COZY: Fire in the fireplace is not only cozy, but also financially beneficial for many people who get expensive electricity. Photo: Stig Morten Waage / news – Cabin owners should really worry, says Lilleholt – Everyone who is going to the cabin must buy firewood, because there is a completely different calculation without electricity support. In the cabin, even expensive gas station wood will be profitable, he says. COLD: It will be cheaper to keep warm on skis than to heat the cabin for the winter. Here a skier by a cabin at sunset on Sjusjøen. Photo: Berit Roald / NTB Lilleholt reminds that wood also has a cost and is not necessarily worthwhile if it is expensive, if you have electricity support and a fireplace with a poor calorific value. Lilleholt believes that cabin owners and self-employed people can get prices of up to six kroner per kilowatt hour. – The state should now look at who will be included in a support scheme. The income for the state will be enormous, much higher than last year, he says.
