The building that burned in Oppdal was not approved as a residence – news Trøndelag

– The investigations of the crime scene must now be reviewed. It is therefore too early to say anything about the cause of the fire. It is extensive work, as the building was significantly damaged, says the prosecuting police attorney, Sigrid Mediås Rygvold, in Trøndelag police district. Documents to which news has gained access show that an application was made to set up the building in 2006. In the application from the homeowners, it was said that the building should be a warehouse. The application states that the building is not to be used for residential purposes. Nevertheless, a Polish family of four lived in the building. Three of them were at home when the fire started on Saturday morning. Only a 15-year-old boy managed to get out of the building. – It is too early to say anything about what significance this will have in the further investigation of the incident, the police write in a press release. Crime scene technicians from the police were in place in the building on Sunday to look for the cause of the fire.
