From before, the local teams of Ap in Levanger and Verdal have done the same. Only Stjørdal Ap has so far wanted the former health minister Ingvild Kjerkol at the top of the Storting list from the Nord-Trøndelag Labor Party. During the meeting of Steinkjer Ap on Thursday evening, Kjerkol is not on the list of current candidates. – The majority of members chose not to include her name on the list. We had a rather divided meeting, almost in the middle, says manager of Steinkjer Ap, Kristian Hovd Sjøli. Still possible for Kjerkol Sjøli says they are still in the middle of a nomination process in the Labor Party in Nord-Trøndelag and that nothing has been decided yet. – There remains thorough work in the nomination committee, which will look at the input coming from the various municipal parties, says the local team leader to Ap in Steinkjer. – Is the door completely closed for Kjerkol now or is there still a possibility? – No, I don’t want to say that the door is closed. Absolutely not. We are still early in a long process. In Namsos Ap, the deputy chairman of Trøndelag Ap, Amund Hellesø, is listed first on the list after the meeting on Thursday evening. Neither here is Kjerkol’s name listed on any of the places on the list. The local teams of Ap in Inderøy and Nærøysund municipalities also have nomination meetings this evening. It is not clear who they propose on the top list from Nord–Trøndelag to the Storting next year. Amund Hellesø is deputy leader of Trøndelag Ap and proposed tonight as the top candidate for the Storting next year from Namsos Ap. Renewal Leader of Steinkjer Ap, Kristian Hovd Sjøli, praises former health minister Ingvild Kjerkol, who is now leader of the Energy and Environment Committee at the Storting. – I think Ingvild is a wonderfully skilled politician. You have to look far and wide to find politicians with such great impact both on behalf of the party and on behalf of Trøndelag. I have great respect for her and the work she has put in. – What do you think about the fact that she is not on the Storting list for 2025 from Steinkjer Ap? – It can be an expression of many different things. I think all members have different arguments. Some argue with the need for renewal in the organisation.
