The Alliance-Alternative for Norway party cannot receive party support – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

The radical right-wing party Alliance – Alternative for Norway may not receive party support. This is revealed in a recent judgment from the Oslo District Court. The party is led by Hans Jørgen Lysglimt Johansen. The court believes that party support can only be given if the party’s executive body has more than one member, and that the executive body must be chosen by another body in the party. – This is not how it is in the Alliance – Alternative for Norway where all power rests with Lysglimt Johansen, says the judgment. Johansen tells news that it may be appropriate to appeal the verdict. – But it has not been decided yet. We’ll have to think about it for a few days. In any case, it is a process that will take a long time, says the party leader. Hans Jørgen Lysglimt Johansen in connection with the trial against him this summer. The tribunal has previously concluded that the party does not meet the requirements to receive party support. The judgment does not prevent Lysglimt Johansen from running a list in elections. The alliance has received approximately NOK 1.8 million in state support since 2018. At the last general election, the party received 2,489 votes. Having lost the right to state support, Johansen went to court to have the decision made by the Party Law Board reviewed. The Oslo District Court has been tasked with assessing whether the decisions were valid. The alliance lost its right to state support last autumn, following a decision by the tribunal. The reason was that the party did not meet the minimum requirements to receive support. In previous decisions, the support has been cut short, because the Alliance’s accounts were not checked and approved by an auditor. Johansen has justified this by saying that he has not been able to find an auditor who will take on the assignment. The decision could not be appealed. The only way to get the decision overturned was to go to court. Published 14.10.2024, at 16.29 Updated 14.10.2024, at 18.22
