She became world famous for her relationship with the scandal-ridden singer Serge Gainsbourg. Birkin was found dead in her own home in Paris by a nurse on Sunday, according to French BFMTV. Birkin was born on 14 December 1946 in London and started her career as an actress before becoming an artist. She got her breakthrough in Michelangelo Antonioni’s film “Blow-up” from 1966. She really became world famous for her relationship with the French singer Serge Gainsbourg on and off the screen, writes Sky News. In 1969, the duo released the heavily sexually charged album “Je t’aime – moi non plus”. Gainsbourg had written the song, and it caused quite a stir that the song played so openly on sex. The song became a commercial success throughout Europe, perhaps in part due to the publicity it received after being banned from radio in Italy, Spain and the UK. Birkin and Gainsbourg were married in the period 1968 to 1980, and together they had the famous actress Charlotte Gainsbourg.
