US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth is in no doubt. Europe must take more responsibility for their own security, because Americans have more important things: China. – They rapidly increase their expenses on defense and modern technology. They want to replace the United States, says Fox News. He has previously said that the White House experiences China’s ambitions as a threat globally, and “for free -thinking people everywhere”. Photo: AFP Short process Much indicates that the new US government believes that Ukraine is almost a filleting in comparison with the challenge from China and should be able to be resolved quickly. Seen with Donald Trump’s impatient look, he may think that a rough treatment of Ukraine’s president, whom he can push, and almost silky -soft tone towards Russia’s Vladimir Putin, which he cannot push, will make a short process. But, does it stick even deeper? Analysts now believe that Trump has a larger underlying strategy, which will live when the war in Ukraine is a completed chapter. It is called a “reverse nixon” and is about making Putin an ally. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been isolated by the West after he went to full -scale attacks on Ukraine. Now Americans may be willing to invite him into the heat. Photo: Reuters “Reverse Nixon” In 1972, President Richard Nixon secured that China entered the heat, to isolate and thus could stand stronger against the Soviet Union. Today, Russia is not the biggest challenger of America. It’s China. A “reverse Nixon” strategy will therefore be to take Russia into the heat, while China is isolated. This strategy has been widely discussed following the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently fronted it in an interview with Breitbart News. Also, a report from the US research and analysis company Filter Labs recommends that the United States and allies try to get a wedge in the relationship between Russia and China. “The US attempt to then divide China and Russia is completely useless,” spokesman Lin Jian, in the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Photo: AP “China’s junior partner” Foreign Minister Rubio is clear that the US -China relationship will define our century. He does not imagine that Russia will want to be China’s “junior partner.” Therefore, he believes that it is in both Russian and American interest, that Russia does not lean on China. Both the American opposition and European leaders are strongly critical of letting Russia into the heat, but Rubio believes there are worse alternatives. A strong alliance between Russia and China will mean that the United States is facing two nuclear powers. “Now I think we are in a situation where the Russians have become increasingly dependent on the Chinese, and it’s not a good result either, if you think about it,” Rubio said. Many Europeans are very critical of Donald Trump’s foreign policy, and it is marked in a German carnival. Photo: AP Global Stability Nevertheless Takes a lot to break up the relationship between Moscow and Beijing. Ukraine’s former Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba believes that such a strategy will be used. “Impossible, because for Putin, Trump is just an episode in the US strategy, while Xi is for Putin the strategy itself,” Kuleba told SCMP. Chinese President Xi Jinping has called Russia “a true friend” and “a good neighbor”. The relationship between them has been strengthened after both have been forced western sanctions. – I think it sounds very naive, if cracking cracks between the two countries is the goal, says Katarzyna Zysk to news. She is a professor of international relationships at the Defense College. Donald Trump’s softer attitude towards Russia may be due to a “reverse nixon” strategy. Photo: Reuters Multipolar The World Zysk explains that there are some challenges in the relationship between Russia and China, but they primarily have many coincident interests. – It’s all about working for a multipolar world, says Zysk. Professor Katarzyna Zysk from the Defense College, thinks it is naive by the United States, if the goal is to crack between China and Russia. Photo: Defense College Both China and Russia want the world to be dominated by the United States, and believe that more people must help decide. “The Russian mentality and the whole policy over the last 20 years, where the United States is primary enemy, is about undermining the US position in the international community,” Zysk explains. She thinks Moscow can join the American game as long as it is beneficial for them, but not to such an extent that there is split with China. The Chinese and the Russians understand that they are strengthened together. “I can’t imagine them going to turn completely and be almost the United States ally,” Zysk says. In addition, the Russian economy has become deeply integrated into the Chinese, she explains. China President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have a good tone and many common goals. Photo: Reuters – Urgent trying the US Foreign Minister can also see that it can be demanding to get Russia on the team. – I don’t know if we will ever succeed in peeling them away from a relationship with China, says Rubio. He still thinks it is urgent to try. “If the trend continues, in ten or five years we could be in the situation that Russia is not in a position to improve relationships with the United States, even if they wanted it, because they have become so dependent on the Chinese, because we have cut them out,” Rubio said. Donald Trump is criticized for being silky with Russian president, Vladimir Putin. Photo: AP – All the nations of the world will look around what is happening, and they will quickly realize that the only stable and accountable power in the world is China, says Kuleba. He therefore believes that China will be the country that comes out the best of Trump’s second round as president. “Maybe that’s not what Trump hopes to achieve, but there are very good reasons to believe that China will benefit greatly from what is happening now, by showing patience and being ready to embrace other countries,” says Kuleba.
