Today, Russia is not the biggest challenger of America. It’s China. A “reverse Nixon” strategy will therefore be to take Russia into the heat, while China is isolated. This strategy has been widely discussed following the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently fronted it in an interview with Breitbart News. Both the American opposition and European leaders are strongly critical of letting Russia into the heat, but Rubio believes there are worse alternatives.
