The victory means that Norway stands with a full pot after two matches. The goal difference is a solid 14-0 after San Marino were beaten 7-0 away from home before the weekend. Arnstad shone in his rather free midfield role against Latvia and showed off a range of scoring skills. 1-0 came from a free kick which he bent up at the angle from about 20 meters away. The same man was up front and ensured the Norwegian lead towards the break. Isak Hansen-Aarøen hit a great cross from the left, and Arnstad headed the ball into the goal via the hands of Latvia goalkeeper Janis Beks and the post. – I would say that I am a bit underestimated there (in the mental game). I may not be that tall, but I can win some head-to-head duels, Arnstad told TV 2 during the break. There was little doubt as to who would take the penalty when Arnstad was brought down in the Latvia box five minutes after the break. The Anderlecht professional was cool from eleven meters and tipped the ball into the goal with a “Panenka”. He then celebrated with a backwards somersault. Norway controlled the entire match in Drammen, and after an hour of play, a healthy Oscar Bobb also got on the scoresheet. He put in a rebound to make it 4-0 after Arnstad had hit the post. Norway’s front row of Bobb, Hansen-Aarøen and Andreas Schjelderup continued to trouble Latvia’s defence, and the latter scored after 66 minutes of play. Schjelderup was stepped through by Christos Zafeiris and finished smartly in the near corner. Tobias Gulliksen came on after 78 minutes, and four minutes later he made it 6-0 from an acute angle after good Norwegian play.
