Terje Marcussen has said that he takes responsibility after the qualifying match against Bryne was cancelled, and the Jærbuen were awarded a 3-0 victory. The Start supporters are still in shock after a short Saturday evening at the Sparebanken Sør Arena. – It is embarrassing and humiliating to be a Start supporter. It has been a long day. That’s what the leader of Start’s supporter group Tigerberget and spokesman for the supporter group Londsia says. He says it will be strange if more people in the club do not follow general manager Terje Marcussen out of the southern club. Kai Rune Karlsen is an avid Start supporter. Action is needed here, says Karlsen. – As supporters, we are powerless and have no voice. But as members we have a voice, and we will use it loudly in the future. There will be no silence from us, he adds. Here is the Londsia supporter group during a match earlier this year. He will act as chief executive until a new permanent general manager is in place. Supporter gathering for the week An open meeting for the three supporter groups Tigerberget, Londsia and Langsida is planned for the week. There they will investigate whether any of the supporter groups and members may be suitable for a Start board. – The start boat must go in one direction. Now it is split up in several directions, and that is the chairman’s responsibility, says Karlsen. – What confidence do the supporters have in the club? – Confidence in Start? Ah… It is difficult to trust as the situation is now, both in the administration, the board and the sporting management. So we’ll see what the next few days bring. Fædrelandsvennen has previously written about high-profile members who want to take over the current Start board. – We think that it is natural. Whichever perspective you use to look at how the club appears, it doesn’t look good. Changes must be made here. And we as members will give instructions about that in due course, says Karlsen. Tough day for chairman Ole Magnus Skisland has probably had one of his busiest days as chairman of Start. The board has been gathered at Sparebanken Sør Arena for large parts of Sunday. – It is a demanding and sad situation. We have worked on handling it, says Skisland. The board will continue The chairman says the supporters have the right to demand action when the situation has become what it is. But the board has no plans to resign. – We will make deep and good evaluations of what we have done, and are doing. So we have no intention of running away from the responsibility we are in now. It is the members who give us the trust we should have, so we are prepared to take on the situation that comes. – How much of the responsibility do you take? – We have to do our part. – What does it mean? – We are the top manager of this system. We will review the evaluation over the next few days and weeks, and will return with more information after that. – How much trust does the board feel you have as of today? – The members must answer for that. We do not run from any responsibility. We are prepared to take on the job of dealing with the situation now, and the further plan for Start. Then it is the sovereignty of the members who will sit on the board. We are determined to continue, says the chairman. Skisland says that the board has had a round today, to check whether everyone is motivated for the job going forward. – We have great motivation, and I speak for the entire board. We are willing to this round that is now coming.
