“Super Mario Bros. Wonder” for Switch – Reviews and recommendations

“Super Mario Bros. Wonder” is the big topic of conversation among game geeks these days, and for good reason. It is the first time since 2006 that the legendary “Bros.” series comes in a completely new look. Although the “New Super Mario Bros.” games have accompanied every Nintendo console since the DS, many are longing for a two-dimensional Mario game that feels new and original. Expectations are therefore sky-high to say the least for the next generation of “Super Mario Bros.”. BOWSER IS BACK: In “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” boss boss Bowser can’t help but stay out of trouble. Photo: Nintendo The flower kingdom must be saved! From the well-known and beloved Mushroom Kingdom, we have moved to the idyllic Flower Kingdom. Here, boss Bowser, using the power of the mysterious Wonder Flower, has taken over the kingdom of Prince Florian, a small caterpillar with a cute hair lick. To get the power to defeat Bowser and get the kingdom back, you have to collect so-called “Wonder Seeds”. THE WONDER EFFECT: The game takes a different direction as you find the wonder flower and get the opportunity to catch “wonder seeds”. Video: Nintendo These magical seeds are among the absolute highlights of the game and must be experienced! Unlike previous games, where the player rescues Princess Peach from Bowser, Peach herself is now part of the rescue team along with familiar characters such as Daisy, Toad and the dinosaur Yoshi. PRINCE ON YOUR BACK: On your neck you carry the prince of the Flower Kingdom. He’s cute, he’s small and he’s everywhere. Photo: Nintendo Yoshi comes in a “lighter” version where he does not take damage. This is perfect for younger players. I appreciate endlessly that you can choose new characters, but I would have liked to have seen more faces on the block when you first start. Old “heroes” in new clothes The game is characterized by a fresh new design, catchy music, lots of new elements and utterly charming enemies. It’s a nice mix of old acquaintances and new enemies. SINGING PIRANHA PLANTS: I can’t help but laugh and smile watching the enemies dance and sing. Video: Nintendo Several of the classics appear with new surprises and disguises. I am charmed in the sink by Piranha plants that sing and dance, terrified squirrels and funny Maw-Maws with huge jaws that devour everything they come across. The enemies have tons of personality, and it all seems like a natural progression for the “Super Mario Bros.” series. New power-ups Where we have previously met Mario as both a cat, a raccoon and a penguin, this time he can be seen in a completely new disguise: an elephant. You can fling your proboscis around to defeat enemies or use your power to destroy blocks. The game also includes new expansions such as bubble shooting and drill hat, my new favorite. “NEW POWER UPS”: Become an elephant, create bubbles that you can jump on or trap enemies in, or drill into the wall with a new drill hat. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is for everyone and everything. It’s weird, it’s crazy, it’s Mario. Technically, I feel in full control of my character, with sharp, optimized controls. Sugary energy bomb A bigger dopamine rush than “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” you have to look further for. Here there is a lot of speed and chaos, with new surprises around every corner. Just trying to keep up. TALKING FLOWER: The flower really reminds you that you are not alone in “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” Hate to love him, or love to hate him. He’s annoying, and you’ll see why, but I still like him. Photo: Nintendo Regular pop-ups with words like “great”, “fantastic” and “wonderful”, various screen decorations, sound effects and more noise means that there are plenty of things that will catch your attention. Some of it can be a little too contrived and can be perceived as distracting. Nevertheless, it is not a decisive obstacle. I am entertained to such an extent! Tailor your adventure Varying levels of difficulty and plenty of challenges make ‘Super Mario Bros. Wonder” is a game for everyone. A nice feature is that the courses are now marked with degree of difficulty, and you can choose the order in which you want to play. Not only that: you can develop your own style of play by collecting “badges” that make it possible to, among other things, fly parachute, kick like a dolphin in the water, or jump extra high. In some worlds, classic battles at the end of the boards have been replaced with other trials. Here I feel a lack, as I had endured several “boss fights”. Still, I like that the creators dare to think new things. “BADGES”: Use your creativity by completing courses in completely unique ways. Photo: Nintendo A milestone for Nintendo “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” enchanted, surprised and impressed me. It lives up to expectations and leaves a gaming experience that I will remember for a long time. The creators have managed to create a brand new “Bros.” game that is both a tribute to the past and evokes memories of past adventures. I can’t stress enough how happy I am with this game. If this game is a bag of goodies, I’ll never get enough. My new favorite! news reviews Photo: Nintendo Title: “Super Mario Bros.
