He was last seen in the center of Stryn on the night of Sunday. – Today we just have to comfort each other. The students are upset, the staff are the same. We try to do the right things. He knew them well. So it’s a sad day at school. Not least those who went to class with him are having a hard time now, says the headmaster. We have no indications that anything criminal has happened. We think this could be an accident, but we are keeping all possibilities open, says Vidar Stavik in the police. The police have received a number of tips, and are particularly interested in more tips if anyone may have seen Grimstad in the area between the secondary school, the bus station and the national highway at 5:00 on Sunday morning. Stryn motor festival calls itself Norway’s fiercest motor festival. There was a display of large and small vehicles, there was a parade with colorful cars and in the evening there was an outdoor concert with Rotlaus and Hagle. But by Sunday morning this had turned into sadness and despair. – This is just sad and tragic. This is something that we always hope will not happen. And yet it happens. It is sad, says mayor of Stryn Per Kjøllesdal. Stryn municipality implemented the routines of the psychosocial crisis team on Sunday evening. The fire service also took part in the search operation together with Stryn Red Cross. Many of Grimstad’s friends were also involved in the search operation. – An incident like this has a strong impact on the local environment. But the news that one of the students is no longer there overshadows everything. – It will be a tough and special end to the school year. We just have to say that we have to take care of each other, and it’s okay to be sad. There are only a couple of weeks until the end of the school year. Then we must together try to make the best of the end of school, says headmaster Klungre. – The news of the death was a completely unreal message to receive. We were completely uninvited to learn that something so tragic had happened. We get close to each other at this little school. Many people knew Gunnar and think this is very difficult, says the principal. Gunnar Jonsson Rafteseth Grimstad is from Ålesund. Before he traveled to Herøy to attend secondary school, he attended Kolvikbakken secondary school in Ålesund. On Monday afternoons, Volsdalen church is open between 17.00 and 20.00.
