The earthquake struck close to the coast and a possible tsunami warning has been issued. AFP reports that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.4 and refers to seismologists at the National Seismological Institute in Mexico. Mexico City is also affected by the earthquake, reports Reuters. According to witnesses the news agency has spoken to, several buildings shook as a result of the earthquake in the capital, and people ran into the streets to get to safety. So far, there have been no reports that anyone has been injured or that buildings have been destroyed.
