Storm in the north – motorhome overturned by strong winds – news Troms and Finnmark

The weather conditions have consequences for traffic in several places in the county. In Finnmark, the police receive reports from several road users who are having problems on the E69 in the direction of Magerøya due to the strong wind. Among other things, a motorhome on a trip to the Nordkapp has overturned at Skipsfjord. Two people were in the motorhome when it overturned, but no one is expected to be injured. In the last 24 hours, the municipality has felt the consequences of the storm. Among other things, around 150 residents are without electricity. Due to the strong wind, the ferry connection between Storstein and Nikkeby has not been able to run as normal. The power company’s technicians have therefore had to get a lift with the lifeboat. – Personnel from the rescue boat are coming out to Arnøy, and will start troubleshooting. So we hope it’s a minor fault, so the power will return quickly, says Albrigtsen. Decreases throughout the day A yellow warning has been issued for strong gusts of wind in parts of Troms and outer areas of Finnmark. A small to full storm is forecast with wind gusts of 27–30 meters per second. Locally, there can be wind gusts of up to 30–35 meters per second. According to the meteorologists, the wind is expected to decrease on Tuesday afternoon.
