12 December 2023 at 14:45 Storebrand financed upgrades for the Ministry of Justice The Ministry of Justice ordered upgrades in the office premises for NOK 299 million. The upgrades were financed by the then owner of the building, Storebrand, writes DN. – Statsbygg entered into an ordinary lease for Gullhaug Torg with an addition for investments that were to be included in the rent, writes communications director Hege Njaa Aschim at Statsbygg to DN. DN has asked questions to Statsbygg and the Ministry of Justice about the lease agreement, and received an answer from Statsbygg. Statsbygg believes that the Department of Justice’s lease differs significantly from what NSM has been criticized for: – Yes, absolutely. The state pays a house rent that includes everything, including upgrades and adaptations. Costs for replacement premises for the ministries, including Gullhaug Torg, are anchored in the Storting, with associated appropriations. The state has not entered into any loan agreement related to Gullhaug square, as NSM has done for its premises. For the record, we state that it is Statsbygg that has entered into the lease on behalf of the state, Aschim writes to DN.
