Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre invites the parties in the Storting to a new, broad collaboration on defense and pensions on Thursday. Støre calls for predictable and lasting solutions to several of today’s challenges. The Government is therefore asking the Storting to convene for a broad settlement on the new long-term plan for the Armed Forces and on pensions. Today’s long-term plan for the Norwegian Armed Forces will be the most important since the post-war period, says Støre on Politisk kvarter. – How we come together about the defense plan will be very important. I would like to say today that all the parties will be invited to the first conversation about how this will turn out. Broad cooperation is important as it means that regardless of who governs after the election in 2025, the government will stand behind the plan, believes Støre.
