Stavanger and Randaberg municipality have issued a boil warning – Latest news – news

The break in a main water main at Stokka in Stavanger on Monday evening may have led to contaminated water entering the mains, the municipalities say. There are over 50,000 people affected by the boil warning, writes Stavanger Aftenblad. Boil warning means that water to be taken into the mouth must be boiled first. When the water can be declared healthy is uncertain. – We have to discuss whether it makes sense to take water samples already on Tuesday or whether we have to wait. In any case, the water samples must be cultured, and it can easily take a day before we get a response to the samples, says Jarle Furre, head of water, sewage and waste disposal in Stavanger municipality. Randaberg municipality states that all the municipality’s residents must boil water for drinking. The relevant areas in Stavanger are Madla, Stokka, Tasta, Vardeneset, Kvernevik, Sunde and Byhaugen, the municipality states on its website. (news/NTB)
