Status of the bypass roads and temporary bridges – news Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration is now working hard to install temporary bridges on the E16 in Vang in Valdres and on national highway 22 in Fredrikstad. – They are in the process of being completed, says department director Cato Løkken in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. The bridge in Valdres will be drivable within a couple of days, while the bridge in Fredrikstad will probably be ready within a day. All bridges must be checked again. Only two of the 14 bridges now have a temporary bridge connection. – It’s because the other road bridges are so long, and using the solution we’ve chosen now to put a bridge on top of the existing bridge, it’s not possible to achieve it in a simple way, says Cato Løkken in the Swedish Road Administration. A lot of trouble Cato Løkken says on Monday that they have not received reports of any more accidents or unfortunate incidents on the bypasses. – But of course there is more traffic than those roads are normally designed for. Trouble is there are many places because there is a lot of traffic and a lot of delays, but it is only in Valdres that we have had descents, says Løkken. Last week, a bus, a tanker and a lorry drove off on the bypass in Vang in Valdres. Overturning on narrow bypasses: – Completely unsustainable situation After the last descent on Friday, this bypass was closed to heavier vehicles and other cars must now drive with a guide car. Must be flood-proof At Tretten, the local population and the business community may have to endure time-consuming detours for a long time to come. Photo: Mette Vollan According to the plan, there was supposed to be a temporary bridge over the river, but now it seems that it will be more difficult than expected. – This is a very complicated piece of work. The bridge we are going to have in place will have to stand for a couple of years, maybe more. Then it has to withstand various floods in Lågen, says the head of transport in Innlandet, Aud Riseng. A meeting will be held on the possibilities for a temporary bridge on Tuesday, just over a week after Tretten Bru collapsed. Seam all the bridges The work to dismantle and remove the broken bridge at Tretten takes time, partly because it is risky and because the police must secure evidence to find the cause of the collapse. Until more is known, the wooden bridges built in a similar way will remain closed. – What we have also started is a special inspection and control bill of the bridges to get the facts on the table until we know more about what was the cause at Tretten, says Cato Løkken in the Swedish Road Administration. The Norsenga bridge on the E16 in Kongsvinger is prioritized first because it has the most traffic. E6 still closed E6 past the bridge at Tretten is still closed and will remain so for several more days. The collapsed bridge collapsed over both the river and the road. On Monday, traffic manager Aud Riseng says that they hope to open the E6 to traffic again before next weekend.
