2 March 2024 at 17:30 Søren Pape Poulsen, leader of the Conservatives in Denmark, has died, the party says on its website. He lived to be 52 years old. Poulsen has been leader of the Conservative People’s Party since 2014. Between 2016 and 2019, he was Minister of Justice in Denmark. He also declared himself a candidate for prime minister in 2022. According to the party, Poulsen suffered a brain haemorrhage during the Conservatives’ executive board meeting on Friday. He was taken to hospital, but his life could not be saved. – He fell over in the middle of what he had dedicated his life to, writes the party on its website. The party is considered Høyre’s sister party. On X, party leader Erna Solberg writes that it is sad to hear about the death. – Far too early.
