Midfielder Sakarias Opsahl has signed the contract that binds him to the Bergen club until 2028. – It feels absolutely fantastic. It’s a beautiful city, a great club and a fantastic stadium, says Sakarias Opsahl to brann.no. After the clubs reached an agreement on Monday, the 24-year-old got on the plane from Tromsø to Bergen that evening, and completed the medical test on Tuesday. On the same day, he already took part in his first Brann training session. Midfielder Opsahl has long been linked to Brann as a replacement for Heltne Nilsen, who went to Aberdeen. Opsahl was one of the central pieces on the TIL team which last year managed a third place in the Eliteserien, just behind Brann. Tromsø Sports Association comments on the transition with a short post on its website. – We thank Saka for their efforts over several years, and we are very proud of the journey we have had together from 2020, says sports manager at TIL Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen. Brann sold his captain and midfield general Sivert Heltne Nilsen to Scotland this summer. – Sakarias is an exciting player with good skills. He can play both in the deep role in midfield and as an inside runner. We hope he will develop further with us here at Brann, and look forward to following his further development, says sporting manager at Brann, Per-Ove Ludvigsen. Opsahl is Brann’s first signing in the summer transfer window, and can make his debut as early as Saturday when Brann meets Sarpsborg away in the Eliteserien.
