What were the global box office numbers for Jason Statham’s film A Working Man during its opening weekend? How did Disney’s Snow White perform in comparison? What factors contributed to Gower Street Analytics raising its global 2025 forecast to $34.1 billion? Which overseas markets showed strong performances for the films mentioned, and what was the combined total for the Indian film L2: Empuraan?
As Hollywood begins to descend upon Las Vegas ahead of the start of CinemaCon tomorrow, it was a mixed bag at the international box office this weekend. Jason Statham-starrer A Working Man muscled in with a $30.2M global bow, including $15M from overseas markets, while Snow White saw a 48% drop in the offshore sophomore session.
At the same time, Gower Street Analytics has increased its global 2025 forecast to $34.1B. Though that revision is largely down to the overperformance of Chinese blockbuster Ne Zha 2, there’s plenty to look forward to on the horizon – much of which we’ll get a glimpse at and be reporting on from here in Las Vegas this week.
Looking for now at this weekend overseas, Disney’s Snow White was the top studio movie of the session, adding $22.1M from 51 offshore markets. That takes the running international total to $76.3M and global to $143.1M. No. 1s were held in Australia, Italy, Spain, UK, Brazil, and Mexico. The Top 5 to date are UK ($8.7M), Mexico ($6.9M), Italy ($6.6M), France ($5.5M), and Brazil ($4.5M).
Amazon MGM Studios’ A Working Man debuted in 41 overseas markets via Warner Bros., and a further 22 where Black Bear handles. The combined international bow was $15M (including $8.8M from WB markets).
China, where Statham excels, was the top performer at $2.9M (via Black Bear) and came in roughly on par with Gladiator II and John Wick: Chapter 4. For WB, the best play was Germany at a No. 1 start of $1.4M, which is ahead of several comps including 2021’s Wrath of Man (+107%). Australia opened at No. 2 with $1.1M, in line with The Beekeeper. Mexico also launched to $1.1M (No. 3), similar to The Beekeeper; and the UK started with $867K (No. 3).
WB will open Italy on April 10, while additional Black Bear markets include Saudi Arabia (March 31), Vietnam (April 4), Philippines (April 9), and Japan (January 2, 2026).
Recall that Statham’s previous David Ayer/Amazon MGM Studios team-up, The Beekeeper, proved to be a very solid performer with a nearly $163M global gross.
In other new play, India’s Malayalam-language action thriller L2: Empuraan, from director Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring Mohanlal, opened to around $20M worldwide (this is per our sources and pending more clarity as is typically the case with India). On 87 Imax screens across 14 markets, the follow-up to 2019’s Lucifer earned $1.1M including the biggest Indian opening ever for the format in the UK & Ireland and the highest-grossing Imax launch weekend of 2025 across the Middle East.
In continued play, Enlight’s Ne Zha 2 topped RMB 15B in China and has grossed upwards of $50M outside the home market (including $11.3M from Warner Bros.-distributed hubs). The estimated global cume is $2.15B. The phenom has become Imax’s 2nd highest-grossing movie ever at the international box office, behind only Avatar: The Way of Water. It opens in Japan on Friday.
Ahead this week, Warner Bros/Legendary’s A Minecraft Movie starts global play.

Snow White Reaches $143 Million Global Box Office: A Working Man Builds $30 Million Bow
In the world of cinema, success can often be measured not only in terms of narrative quality or artistic merit but also through box office figures. Recently, Disney’s live-action adaptation of "Snow White" has captured significant audience attention, amassing an impressive $143 million at the global box office. This accomplishment highlights the enduring appeal of classic fairytales and the franchise’s continued relevance in modern storytelling. Meanwhile, in an interesting parallel narrative of creativity and craftsmanship, a dedicated craftsman has achieved his own feat with the construction of a $30 million bow—a symbol of resilience, innovation, and a passion for craftsmanship.
Snow White’s Journey to Success
The success of "Snow White" at the box office is emblematic of the contemporary trend in Hollywood to reimagine beloved stories from animation into live-action formats. Released initially as an animated film in 1937, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" not only marked Disney’s first full-length animated feature but also set the standard for animated storytelling. The new adaptation, featuring a fresh cast and updated themes, aims to introduce Snow White’s story to a new generation, while also resonating with those who grew up with the original tale.
Critics and audiences alike have shared a range of reactions to the film, which stars a diverse cast and enriches the original plot with modern sensibilities. This adaptation of "Snow White" has successfully entwined larger themes of empowerment and self-discovery, reflecting contemporary societal values. The film, directed by a visionary filmmaker, was met with a marketing campaign that utilized social media, nostalgic campaigns, and strategic placement, ensuring it resonated widely.
Despite facing competition from a myriad of blockbuster releases, "Snow White" has carved out its niche in the marketplace. The film’s box office performance showcases the latent demand for family-friendly content that appeals to both fans of the classic and new audiences. It stands out not only for its financial success but also for its cultural impact, reaffirming Disney’s dominance in the realm of fairy tales and gleaming cinematic visuals.
The $30 Million Bow: Craftsmanship Meets Dedication
In a parallel narrative that speaks to human ingenuity and passion, a working man from a small town has made headlines for building a unique bow—crafted meticulously with a budget of $30 million. This story is not merely about monetary value; it illuminates the devotion and skill behind the craftsmanship. For many, the bow symbolizes more than just a tool; it embodies the spirit of innovation and the age-old tradition of artisanal work.
The craftsman, whose journey may not be as widely known as Disney’s fairy tale adaptations, has dedicated years to mastering the art of bow-making. His project, which emerged from humble beginnings, showcases the beauty of hand-crafted goods in an era dominated by mass production. The bow stands as a testament to the merging of tradition with modern technology, featuring precision engineering, sustainable materials, and an aesthetic that appeals to both hunters and collectors.
This $30 million bow is not just a financial endeavor but one that encapsulates years of perseverance, skill, and a deep-rooted respect for the craft. The project, which gained immense popularity on social media, reflects a growing appreciation for artisanal products in a world that often prioritizes quick, disposable options. This craftsman’s story underscores the values of hard work and dedication, reminiscent of traditional tales of triumph and artistry.
The Convergence of Two Stories
While Snow White and the craftsman’s bow may seem worlds apart, they are united by their core themes: the quest for identity, the pursuit of dreams, and the celebration of creativity. "Snow White" adapts a timeless fairy tale to inspire a new generation, while the craftsman’s bow embodies the idea that personal vision and craftsmanship can still create meaningful impact in contemporary society.
In many ways, these narratives reflect the dynamic landscape of modern storytelling, where both blockbuster films and individual craftsmanship carve out spaces in the cultural zeitgeist. As audiences flock to theatres to witness the enchantment of "Snow White," the innovative spirit represented by the bow serves as a reminder that stories of creativity and determination come in many forms.
Conclusion
As Disney’s "Snow White" reaches $143 million at the global box office, it reaffirms the timelessness of classic tales. Simultaneously, the story of a craftsman building a $30 million bow reminds us of the power of passion and dedication in the creation of art. Both narratives emphasize the importance of storytelling, whether through the lens of a cinematic classic or the dedication of an artisan. In a world driven by creativity and innovation, these stories inspire us to dream, create, and appreciate the beauty of both fantasy and craftsmanship.
“Snow White” has achieved impressive box office results, reaching $143 million globally. Meanwhile, the film “A Working Man” has made a solid impact as well, with a bow of $30 million. These figures highlight the varying trends in audience preferences and the performance potential of different genres in the current cinematic landscape.
