Five people have been charged with serious drug offenses and must appear in court in March, for having imported 3.9 kilos of cocaine and 99.5 kilos of hashish from Sweden to Norway across the national border at Ljørdalen in Trysil in February 2022. Four of the defendants will from the Oslo area, while one is from Sweden. The Swedish defendant, who is in his early 20s, is said to have been responsible for importing the drugs. The Norwegian defendants, who are in their late 20s and mid-40s, are said to have collected the drugs on the Norwegian side. In August 2022, the police stated that they had found sleds, which they suspect were used to transport the drugs. In July this year, two Swedish men were also convicted of having smuggled 95.6 kilograms of hashish from Sweden to Norway, also on a sled, in Våler in March 2022.
