For several years, Abrams has campaigned to get blacks to register as voters in Georgia, and she has fought against electoral laws that restrict the right to vote. Georgia has more than ten million inhabitants. 3.3 million of these are black, i.e. around a third. Abrams says that these voters are still exposed to attacks on their right to vote by Republicans in Georgia. The election campaign is well under way, and many voters have already voted. Election day itself is 8 November.
