23 September 2022 at 10:31 Siv Hallgren resigns as head of the Re-admission Commission Siv Hallgren has been appointed as the new director of the State’s Civil Rights Administration, and she thus leaves as head of the Re-admission Commission. The appointment took place in the Cabinet on Friday, writes NTB. – Hallgren succeeds Anne Pauline Jensen, who is retiring. She starts in the position when the Ministry of Justice and Emergency Preparedness decides, the government writes in a press release. Hallgren has been head of the Readmission Commission since 2017. Before that, she was a lawyer and partner in the law firm Elden for ten years. It is known that Siv Hallgren was one of the two who voted against when the Retrial Commission decided that the case of Baneheia convict Viggo Kristiansen should be reopened. The decision was made during dissent, where three of the commission’s members voted for resumption, while two voted against. The re-admission commission decides whether a convicted person with a final sentence should have his case dealt with again by the court. The commission is independent of the police, the prosecution and the courts, they write on their website.
