– It’s an emotional roller coaster. It’s like I’ve bought a VIP pass at Tusenfryd, said Silje Nordnes in this week’s edition of Skiklubben. – We will go for it. It’s Russian roulette, said Emil Gukild. In the spring and summer, in the Skiklubben podcast, they updated the listeners on their run and their goals. Nordnes will run in two hours and five minutes. Emil Gukild runs to get under one hour and 30 minutes. Nordnes tells news that she is excited about whether she can do it or not. – That is what is scary about saying a goal out loud. Then there is a risk of failure. At the same time, I try to think that if I hadn’t had that goal, I wouldn’t have trained as much and prepared as well as I have, she says, and continues: – So whether I can do it or not, I can’t answer to. I have no idea. But I hope so, she says, chuckling. Nordnes is delighted to start with the same conditions as Jakob Ingebrigtsen. Until last weekend, neither of them had run a half marathon. – It’s a bit nice to be in the same boat as Jakob. There was something about the fact that he had never run more than 20 kilometers. I don’t think it will be a Norwegian record for me, but we’ll see, said Nordnes in the podcast. Got a very special challenge Saturday is the start of the Oslo marathon. As the last part of the preparations, it was straight into the podcast studio. Listener Jørn sent in a call that made an impression. You can see the challenge in the video window at the top of the case. “I want to give you an extra motivation. I will donate NOK 10,000 to the Children’s Cancer Association if you reach your goal. For every minute you go over, the amount goes down by NOK 200, but for every minute you improve, NOK 200 is added. Hopefully the amount will be NOK 10,000 plus plus.” – What a rough guy, reported Silje Nordnes. – Good motivation, reported Gukild. – Now you know what you have to keep in mind on the way up to Bislett at the end, said Anders Aukland, who will run together with Gukild and try to get under 1:30. When asked by news whether the donation is also an additional pressure, Nordnes replies: – Yes, in a way it is. After all, it is mostly a motivation. It is very nice that we have listeners who are so dedicated, generous and committed that they want to contribute to the TV campaign. It’s just gorgeous, she says. – Then there is the thought that there will be less money for the children’s cancer association if I run too slowly… I actually try not to think about it too much. I have to have positive thoughts in my head now, she continues. Do you think they will achieve their goals? Yes, this is going well! This probably won’t work. Show result Gukild failed in Birken This will be the second major test for the trio in the Ski Club. When they ran the Birkebeinerrennen this spring, Silje Nordnes managed her task by a good margin. Even then, Gukild had very ambitious goals for the race, but ended up lying almost lifeless in the finish area after reaching the finish line with very little strength. For Nordnes, the question is whether an injury to one foot can put a damper on Saturday’s running party. – I don’t quite know how it will react at 21 kilometres. That’s what I’m most excited about. That is where it lies for me. Otherwise, I feel that I have prepared well and am in reasonably good shape, she says. It didn’t quite go according to plan when Emil Gukild took part in the Birkebeinerrennen for the very first time. Emil Gukild and Silje Nordnes are associated with news.
