While her current life is filled with glitter and glamour, the 26-year-old has also encountered her share of hardships—one particularly harrowing experience took place when she was just 17 years old when she was diagnosed with a tumor.
Prior to being crowned Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2022 and winning the title of first runner-up in Miss France 2023, Agathe worked as a nurse in the neurology department at Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Hospital in Lille. She chose this path after overcoming a significant health scare during her adolescence. “I had a borderline tumor weighing 9 kilos when I was 17,” she revealed during her appearance on “Télématin,” broadcast on March 19, 2025.
This tumor was located on her right ovary, which had to be surgically removed along with the fallopian tube. “I was hospitalized, and when I experienced that world of hospitals, I received excellent care, and that’s why I wanted to become a nurse afterward,” Agathe explained. Fortunately, she did not undergo chemotherapy, and the only lasting physical reminder of her ordeal is a scar on her abdomen. “I was lucky. Just surgery was enough to cure me. It’s a story that ends well,” she shared with France Bleu, adding that her scar is her “biggest complex.”
Despite the challenges, Agathe Cauet is actively working on her self-confidence. Being selected to represent her region at the Miss France 2023 pageant, along with her achievement as the first runner-up, has undoubtedly boosted her morale. Now, the spotlight is on her as she prepares for the Miss World competition. Last year, Clémence Botino made it to the Top 40, and in 2013, Marine Lorphelin achieved the highest rank of first runner-up since Denise Perrier’s victory in 1953.
