20 September 2023 at 16:27 Share freeze in the Ministry of Finance All employees in the Ministry of Finance, from the minister downwards, have been temporarily banned from buying and selling shares, writes VG. The ban on trading in bonds and shares applies until after Finance Minister Trygve Slagsvold Vedum (Sp) has presented the state budget on 6 October, writes VG. – In the ministry’s new revised guidelines, an annual shopping ban has been established from 1 August, and until the national budget becomes public when it is presented in the Storting, communications manager Tor Borgersen in the Ministry of Finance tells VG. The reason for the ban is that there may be proposals in the state budget that could affect both the share price of certain companies and the Norwegian economy in general. (NTB)
