Dutch Patrick Roest follows in silver, 33.38 seconds behind the American. This means that a Norwegian battle for the bronze is on the cards. Bart Swings is also in that fight. Lunde Pedersen and Engebråten went in pairs and pushed each other all the way in the 1500 metres. This resulted in 4th and 6th place respectively over the distance with times 1.43.97 and 1.44.09.
