Auch Hospital Hosts Sexual Health Awareness Stand: June 10-11

In the *Occitanie* region, the Hospital of Auch is taking significant steps in promoting sexual health awareness by organizing an  information stand  that is open to everyone on  June 10 and 11 . This event is part of the broader national initiative titled “National Weeks of Sexual Health,” spearheaded by the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Understanding the Objectives of Sexual Health Weeks

The  National Weeks of Sexual Health  run from  June 2 to June 15 , offering a vital opportunity for individuals to educate themselves about various aspects of sexual health. These weeks are not only an informative endeavor but also serve to reduce stigma and combat misinformation surrounding sexual health topics. The campaign aims to disseminate key information related to sexual well-being, focusing on accessibility for all age groups and backgrounds.

In *Occitanie*, these events are supervised by the  Regional Health Agencies (ARS) , ensuring that the information provided is both accurate and relevant. The collaborative nature of this initiative means that multiple stakeholders will work together to highlight the importance of sexual health education and services.

Information Stand at the Hospital of Auch

At the  Centre Hospitalier d’Auch , qualified  midwives  will host an information stand open from  9 AM to 12 PM  in the hospital’s main foyer. They will be present to answer queries and discuss critical themes surrounding sexual health. Topics will include  contraception ,  voluntary termination of pregnancy ,  screening and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) , as well as issues related to  domestic violence  and  consent .

This initiative is crucial, considering the complexities involving sexual health in today’s society. By providing access to professionals who can offer guidance, the hospital aims to empower individuals with knowledge, enabling informed choices regarding their sexual health.

Collaboration with CIDFF for Comprehensive Support

The event will also feature the presence of the  Centre d’Information aux Droits des Femmes et des Familles (CIDFF) , which plays a pivotal role in advocating for women’s rights and family issues. They will be on hand to address questions related to legal matters, rights, and support services. The presence of the CIDFF at this event underscores the interconnection between sexual health and rights, providing a more holistic approach to the participants.

Attendees can expect to receive informative  flyers  and  booklets  created in partnership with the ARS, reinforcing the availability of resources for further education and assistance. Whether an individual is seeking guidance on health issues, legal rights, or emotional support services, this initiative promises a wealth of information.

Promoting a Positive Outlook on Sexual Health

The overarching goals of the  National Weeks of Sexual Health  include fostering a  positive outlook  on sexual health and promoting awareness about various services available in the community. The initiative endeavors to inform individuals about the importance of maintaining one’s sexual health and the benefits of seeking assistance, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, or age.

By actively participating in such events, the Hospital of Auch and its collaborators make essential strides towards addressing sensitive topics that are often overlooked. Openness and accessibility are key aspects in changing attitudes about sexual health, ultimately leading to a healthier and more informed society.

Why Sexual Health Education Matters

The need for robust sexual health education has never been more critical. With alarming statistics regarding STIs and unplanned pregnancies, communities must prioritize awareness campaigns like the  National Weeks of Sexual Health . Ensuring everyone has access to reliable information allows individuals to make informed decisions that affect their health and well-being.

Ultimately, it is not just about delivering information, but also about creating a safe space for discussion—one where individuals feel empowered to ask questions, seek advice, and prioritize their health without fear or stigma. This initiative at the  Centre Hospitalier d’Auch  is a significant step toward creating such an environment, reflecting a commitment to public health and community support. Together, we can break down barriers and promote healthier lifestyles through informed choices and open communication.
