Several simultaneous errors in the health network in the north – news Troms and Finnmark

1 February 2024 at 17:31 Several simultaneous errors in the health network in the north The Norwegian health network currently has two ongoing error situations between Tromsø and Bodø, they report on their own websites. They assume that the error is related to the weather. – Two out of three available guideways are currently out of service. The consequence of this is that we have a risk of a total break in the trunk network between Tromsø and Bodø. The cable network connects health institutions in Troms with the rest of the country. Health information cannot be sent over the internet, but must be sent through closed networks to safeguard information security. As a result, the digital record system, which is linked to cloud solutions, and other internal communication systems from primary health services, nursing homes and hospitals are at risk of collapsing. Norsk helsennett writes that such a breach will have consequences for access to national services in the north. – The area where we are now particularly vulnerable is Harstad-Stokmarknes-Svolvær. The cause, exact location of the faults and rectification times are currently unknown.
