The newspaper writes that it is the British “Verity” (see archive photo), a 91 meter cargo ship that has sunk. The other ship is the Bahamas-registered “Polesie”, which is 190 meters long. The German rescue service reports that several people are missing. Several boats and one helicopter are participating in the search operation. Heligoland is located approximately 70 kilometers off the German coast. It is not known what caused the collision.
