Several hundred test results have not arrived at St. Olav’s hospital in Trondheim – news Trøndelag

– We take this case very seriously, and our focus now is to get an overview as quickly as possible and look after affected patients, says hospital director Grethe Aasved in a press release. On Friday, St. Olav’s Hospital notified of a system error in the much-discussed Health Platform, which has meant that test results were not received. In 853 examinations, the answer has not reached the doctor who ordered the examination. We are talking about imaging examinations and pathology tests. The figures for blood tests and other examinations are not yet available. The overview of incorrect messages about test results stretches back to November 2022. That was when the hospital adopted the Health Platform. Wasn’t up to date with error queue The message about the test answers has ended up in an internal error queue in the Health Platform for manual follow-up, they write in a press release. The error queue has had many error messages that they have not been up to date with handling. Managing Director of the Health Platform, Trond Utne, says they deeply regret the matter. We take what has arisen very seriously, says CEO of the Health Platform, Trond Utne. He says that they are now going through their routines to ensure that this does not happen again. Going through all test results – We are now reviewing all test results, and for the majority the delay is not considered to affect the course of treatment and prognosis, says Aasved. She says many of the patients have already been taken care of. Either by the fact that they have been to a test class or have called for test results. The hospital director at St. Olav’s hospital says that they take the matter very seriously. They must now follow up the patients for whom this case has had consequences. Photo: Morten Waagø / news The results have been available in the patient’s medical record, but the doctors have not been notified that the answer has arrived. – This has meant that the necessary follow-up of the test results in some patients has not been initiated. Unfortunately, some patients have been identified where the delay can have serious consequences, says Aasved.
