30 December 2022 at 19:06 Several countries will require a negative corona test from people traveling from China The UK is going to announce that air passengers arriving in the country from China must take a negative corona test before departure. The BBC reports on Friday evening. The background is that cases of infection have increased sharply in the country recently. This was confirmed by the British Ministry of Health on Friday evening. In the past, the USA, Italy, South Korea and Japan, among others, have decided that they will require a negative corona test for passengers who have been to China. Shortly afterwards, the news agency AFP reports that France will also require negative corona tests from those arriving from China. The test must be submitted no earlier than 48 hours before entry. They will also be tested on arrival. The measure will be implemented on 1 January, writes Transport Minister Clément Beaune on Twitter. Beaune also adds that efforts are being made to coordinate measures in Europe to ensure the best possible protection of French and European citizens. Germany and Spain have also asked for joint coordination of the measures in Europe. Spain has also introduced stricter rules: travelers from China must either be fully vaccinated or test negative for the virus. The EU’s infection control agency ECDC was out on Thursday and said that mandatory corona testing of travelers from China is scientifically unfounded. They added that it was not appropriate to introduce such a requirement in the EU as a whole.
