Sets two new records in Mesternes mester program 9 – news Vestfold and Telemark – Local news, TV and radio

Only one new record had been set so far this season. In the ninth and penultimate programme, things were to speed up. In the exercise “the counter”, presenter Aksel Lund Svindal was the reigning champion with a time of 17:04:28. It was before this demonstration of power by kickboxer Andreas Lødrup. A little sore, Lødrup held out for an impressive 17 minutes and 19 seconds. He thus beat Svindal, and became the new record holder. – Being able to grit my teeth and stand there, it was a bit nice, says Lødrup afterwards. He adds that it was a bit painful too. And that he first became worried about his job as a hand surgeon, after feeling the pain in his hands. PAIN: The palms of his hands hurt long after Lødrup had finished this exercise. Photo: Heidi Marie Gøperød / Nordisk Banijay/news – It took about five months before the little finger regained feeling all the way to the tip, so it cost a bit, says Lødrup. He explains that the nerve had to “grow back”, but that it never caused any problems for him at work. Another record The second record of the evening was set by crossfit athlete Kristin Holte in the exercise “kronidioten”. With the taste of blood in her mouth, she made it through one more obstacle than Magnus Midtbø managed in season 12. GOOD DRIVE: Holte kept good speed throughout the exercise and smashed both her opponents and the old record. Photo: Heidi Marie Gøperød / Nordisk Banijay/news After the exercises, it became clear which three participants were finalists. Cross-country skier Ola Vigen Hattestad did the worst overall, and had to pack up. – I didn’t think I would get this far. I probably went in with rather low ambitions in relation to doing well, says Hattestad a few months later. Apart from the Master of Masters, Hattestad believes the other participants had far more strength to give than what he himself had. – I guess I realized quite quickly that I had lost quite a lot of “power”, he says. After his career, he has largely prioritized running. – So I guess I’ve kept my fitness pretty good, but I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass. RING THROW: Full concentration for Ola Vigen Hattestad in the “ring throw” exercise. Photo: Heidi Marie Gøperød / Nordisk Banijay/news Hattestad is currently well underway with this year’s ski season as national team coach in Slovenia. The focus now is the WC which will be held at the end of February. Participating in the Master of Masters may feel a little distant, even if he keeps getting some reminders that he is in it. – A lot of people say that they are cheering me on and there is some feedback, it’s nice. The final awaits next week. Will it be a kickboxer, crossfit athlete or a rower who becomes this year’s Champion of Champions? Vote for your favorite below!
