The reason: The murder is unprovoked. – He feels violated on a razor-thin basis, he said during his procedure. The court has therefore decided to sentence the man one year more severely than the allegation that was dropped. – We register that the district court has given a one-year stricter sentence than we asked for, and are satisfied with the verdict, says Stolt-Nielsen. The convicted person used four different knives during the murder. When a knife broke, he fetched a new knife. It too was destroyed. – It is a murder with a lot of violence, carried out over a long period of time. At the same time, he must have some deduction for his recognition, he says. The man’s defender, lawyer Torbjørn K. Sognefest, believed that the correct punishment is 15 years in prison. According to him, Sunniva said he had ruined the evening and been rude to her friends. – It darkened for me. It clicked completely, he said. But a frequent exchange of messages between Sunniva and her best friend this night shows that there has not been an ongoing argument, the prosecutor believes. The last thing Sunniva wrote was: “Hearing noise”. The prosecutor believes instead that the anger built up inside the defendant’s head.
