Secret author throws cat mask – news Culture and entertainment

– I have not spoken to anyone about it, not even my husband. The secret author behind the story “Click and collect” is ready to throw away the cat mask. This summer, four authors have published four stories on news.no, and you in the audience have been able to guess who was the sender. (Click here to see who the other secret authors were.) This article reveals the last of them. – I tried to write differently, even though it shines through that it is me. Along the way, the person concerned has seen some of the answers that have come in from the audience, and many have thought correctly, but not all. See some of them below. 10 good answers that were not correct in the Author Hunt’s last round Anne B. Ragde. “My wife said so.” Anne Holt. “The cat is an important element in Selma, who is the main character in her books. She is a former police officer. She has illustrated the book about Gråmann. She has won many awards and was nominated for the Riverton Prize this year.” Ingvar Ambjørnsen. “Writing for people of all ages. This became a subtle story for adults, while at first it seems like a story for children. The drawing with the pipe in his mouth gave him away for me, because I don’t know if there are that many crime writers in 2022 who smoke openly….?” Jo Nesbø. “The writing style! The mixture between a-endings and more national language, which makes the text come alive. The spoken style reflects the thoughts and personality of the narrator’s voice, and I think I recognize that voice from other things I’ve read signed Nesbø. “Kingdom”, for example. And then it is typical for this author to portray half-baked types. So, yeah? Nesbø..” Jørn Lier Horst. “He is an award-winning crime writer. The cat is dressed like Sherlock Holmes, which I think refers to the genre. I think the barn can both show that he is from non-central parts of Vestfold and Telemark, where there are many farms. It can also refer to the cover of the book “When it gets dark”. In addition, the theme of the text, where a man mentally seems to perceive himself as a child even though he is an adult, could be aimed at Horst writing crime fiction for both adults and children. » Karin Fossum. “I think it is similar to Fossum’s way of writing, presenting the story through the eyes of the main character in a believable way. At the same time, the reader also perceives that the perception of reality is jarring.” Lars Saabye Christensen. “The theme reminds me of the book “Maskeblomstfamilien”, about a person who has a completely different thought pattern than others and the author draws us into this…” Per Petterson. “First of all, he writes with a endings and that indicates a clear Eastland anchoring. Furthermore, the action is added to what I think is a drabant urban area that could be east of Oslo. A bit similar in style to I curse the river of time and I refuse. » Vigdis Hjort. “At first I was sure of Unni Lindell, but while I was reading the name Vigdis Hjort popped up.” Zeshan Shakar. “I think this might be Zeshan Shakar. There is something about the sentences and the flow of the text. In addition, the depictions of relationships are in his style. » Many good alternative suggestions notwithstanding, the criminally popular author who loves cats and is a regular when it comes to prices, is Unni Lindell. The Queen of Crimea – What hints did you put into the story? – I have visited the large, rocking woman twice before, in “The Honey Trap” and “Neighbor Alert”. Another clue was Nancy, which was also my grandmother’s name. But I don’t think anyone realized that. DOUBLE WINNER: Unni Lindell received the Riverton prize in both 1999 and 2018. Photo: Heiko Junge / NTB – Is there anything typical of Unni Lindell in this story? – Absolutely. In “Måneorkesteret” (novel, 1998) I have a corresponding son and a mentally ill mother, but who is not quite as driven as in this short story. She is often called the crime queen, and in “Klikk og hent” she also visits this genre. – There are two murders here, but it is not said quite clearly. The boy finds the body of his grandfather in the barn first, and then it is the grandmother who has killed him. But then the grandmother disappears, and then it is probably the boy who has killed her. But this is not said outright, so here you have to think a bit yourself. Actually said no – When you took on this task you had just finished a book script. How was it? – I had just delivered “Fremmedlegeme” (novel, 2022), so I was very confused when you contacted me. Initially I said no, but then you said “what if you try?”. I did that too. After a few rounds back and forth, the result was the story “Click and collect”. – Along the way, I suggested that you rather wait a year, but then I changed a lot after feedback. Here I think budding writers have something to learn. That the work is not over even if you have delivered. New book in progress Despite the fact that she has just finished a novel and the Author Hunt, there probably won’t be a break anytime soon. – “Unfortunately”, I’ve got a book title for a crime story in my head. My grandson was playing with a doll that had a very scary expression on its face, a doll that I actually found in a junkyard and brought home. And that doll is a bit mysterious. An older grandson doesn’t like that doll, and thinks it’s scary. And something popped into my head when I saw them working on that doll this summer. Nice if you include this in the case, as no one must steal that idea, laughs Lindell. The plan is to write at least 50 more books, she says. But before that, she manages to draw a winner from among the many who guessed correctly in this year’s latest edition of the Author Hunt. – Say a number between 1 and 250, which is the number that guessed you: – 57, the same year I was born. It was Vigdis Eckhardt who became the winner. Her answer was very apt, Lindell believes: “She often writes cunning psychological portrayals of people who live on the edge of what most people think is normal”.
