Search operation for man in his 30s The police and Mehamn HRS coordinate – news Troms and Finnmark

– We have found what we believe is the boat the man went out with. It lacks an engine and has clear signs that something has happened, says rescue leader Raymond Prestøy at the Main Rescue Center in northern Norway. Police write on Twitter that the man left Mehamn on Wednesday 29 June in a small fishing boat. It was civilians who found it and reported it to the police. The man is still missing. Launches search on land A search is currently underway over most of the Nordmannsetfjord with a rescue helicopter from Banak, a coast guard ship and a lifeboat. Now crews are also on their way out with the Coastal Administration to conduct a beach search. – The crew will search the shore along the entire fjord and on to the Kamøy industry, in case the man has landed. However, this is a difficult area, and it will take time to get the entire stretch covered, Prestøy says to news. Just after 18:00 tonight, the police report that they have found a jacket. – We have found what we think may be the man’s outer jacket. This was found in Vedvika, and we have now established a search zone here, says operations manager Tarjei Leinan Mathisen to news.
